March 22nd:

I'm really stoked at the moment with some personal photographic news!  I've been quietly sitting on this whilst waiting for the outcomes of submissions and conversations. The final result has been that my Fruit Bat image has now been successfully used/published in two radically different genres!  Both, coincidently, happening to come to fruition within just a few days of each other!  

The first use is an album cover for Spanish metal band Violent Eve!  They've done an absolutely fantastic job with the design, and I'm extremely grateful for their overwhelming enthusiasm and interest in wanting to use my image!  Getting an album cover was something that I really wanted to achieve, and thanks to Violent Eve it's actually happened!  As you can imagine, I'm absolutely ecstatic! The second use, is getting my first ever front cover!  It's the cover image for the April issue of Black & White Photography magazine here in the UK (possibly available in other territories as well).  Again, this was also something right at the top of my achievement list, and so a huge thanks goes to the Black & White Photography team for their wonderful enthusiasm and interest too!  They produce beautiful clean covers, where it's all about the image, and, as with the album cover, I'm totally blown away! And lastly a massive thanks to all of you here on DA who have made this image one of my most popular and successful photographs ever, it has been simply staggering!  Did I happen to mention that I'm really stoked!
